Summary of Benefits

Local Government Corporation is pleased to offer a very generous benefits package to our employees. These benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance with LGC paying 80% of the monthly premium. LGC also provides at no cost to its employees, Life, Dependent Life, AD&D, and Long Term Disability Insurance. In addition, after one year of employment, LGC will contribute 3% of an employee’s base salary into a retirement account, and match up to an additional 3%. Implementation and Software Support Specialist

We are seeking qualified candidates to fill a home-based Implementation and Software Support Specialist position in East TN.  We are seeking candidates with high integrity, strength of character, excellent communication skills and professional and personal ethics that are in line with our LGC’s core values.

About the Position
This position will install and provide on-site and remote training, support, and testing for governmental accounting software to our customer base in the East Tennessee region. Successful candidates will have an accounting degree and/or experience with financials (general ledger reporting, payroll, accounts payable).

Ideal candidate will be located in Knoxville or surrounding area

Travel from home-based office to customer sites with occasional remote work from home-based office

Occasional overnight travel 

Company car, travel expenses, cell phone, iPad and laptop provided.  

Job Specifications

  • Willing to work flexible hours – This is a full time 40 hours a week position with varying work hours based on customer needs (typically, 8 hours in a day will be somewhere between the hours or 6 AM and 6 PM – Monday-Friday)
  • Travel time between customer site/home office is included in work hours
  • Must be comfortable in a teacher/mentor role to install and train various types of  governmental software and modules
  • Troubleshoot customer issues/questions while on site or by telephone and remote access
  • Troubleshoot customer software and sometimes, hardware related issues/questions
  • Troubleshoot and reproduce reported customer problems
  • Test software releases with customer database before implementation
  • Electronically document site visits, customer calls and problem resolutions
  • Follow up with customers as appropriate

Applicants must possess the following:

  • Accounting degree and/or experience with financials (general ledger reporting, payroll, accounts payable)
  • Strong computer skills
  • A working familiarity in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Windows, Networks a plus
  • Self-motivation 
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Mature, positive attitude with good people skills
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
